What I learned about precious metal clay (PMC) today

1. PMC is not for the cheap. $20 doesn't buy you much.
2. Don't work too small. Even is you are cheap. There will be shrinakage and just too small doesn't work.
3. Take enough clay for the part of the peice you are working on. Small amounts of clay dry VERY fast.

I got 16g, and tried to get two peices out of it. What I ended up doing was washing several dolars of it off my hands I scraped it off the first few times, and then just gave up, since the scrapings weren't all the nice.) I started too small and got this far but it was too small to do the fine parts such as the arms. I then started over with the old clay and tried again, but started to loose some of the detail. I think that I'll try again tomorrow, since my back hurts, and see if I can't do better by commiting the entire 16g to the project.

It would be really keen stuff except for the learning curve and the price.
