crush meme
I had part of this pointed out to me, but not all of it. The current crush meme has this in it's terms of service:

By posting said information, including personal information, you grant us full ownership over it for any purpose. This is an object lesson. Don't give out information you don't want other people to see without reading the fine print.

This "This is an object lesson" is quite ominous.

While this doesn't surprise me, where do you go to see the terms of service?

Click the button with out entering anything in the box. Then there is a link under the login field.

Here's a link if you don't have a friend who has it in their journal.

There's a current crush meme? I feel so out of the loop. And yet I don't think I'm missing much. And if the people running it do something funny with the data, I'm sure I'll hear.

Is that Christopher Lloyd in that icon? Love that man 8)

Any meme that has a terms of service is:
1) not worth my trouble
2) STILL A MEME!!! Sheesh! Haven't they learned that the only way a meme survives is propagation! They're supposed to promote the rampant spread of themselves over the whole of a population! Not provide barriers! Survival of the best adapted indeed...

no, its alton brown host of good eats. If you haven't seen good eats, you should. Alton uses vice grips and utility knives to prepare ham.

So, in general, he's a man of Right Think. I always wondered why we have this obsessive predilection for specific tools. Why not just have one massively sharp knife for a job?

I, sadly, almost never watch the Food channel. The exception is of course for Iron Chef.

If only it were subbed, not dubbed...

You should really catch an episode of good eats. I don't know for sure you'd like it, but almost everyone I know has liked it.

Of course, saying it doesn't make it so. The only way to transfer copyright is to actually sign a transfer. At worst, you could grant a license that way, but even then, something obviously sneaky generally doesn't pass judicial muster.

On the other hand, the advice to read carefully is certainly always wise!
