I haven't done water color in 15 years
I think it came out ok, considering I was basically learnign the medium as I went. I'm not happy with it, but hey, out of my comfort zone and all that.

You are a pretty harsh critic of your work - it's beautiful, and i love the subtle musical notes in the black wash.

They were supposed to be a lot more subtle.

It's beautiful and there's really good lines in the way you painted the woman.

Innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnteresting. It makes my eye move around without focusing on any one aspect, in a compelling (not distressing) way.

*shakes tiny fist in anger!* You and your talents! Daaaah! So jealous! :)

Wow! gorgeous!
In the end, I'll know, but on the way, I wondergorgo on November 16th, 2006 08:17 am (UTC)
I really like the way that this piece is almost impressionistic in style, in that it does more of conveying the subject's emotion and sense of being caught up in the music than it does of photorealisticly representing the scene.

This might be really offensive, but it struck me as a good image to include on a greeting card or something similar, if only I had a good caption for the inside.

nope, not rude. If I could make good greeting cards I might actually sell some of my art. :)
Fashionable, but unable to tell fact from fictiontesting4l on November 16th, 2006 10:54 am (UTC)
Ok. That does it.

Before I meet you, I have to figure out how to extract your artistic sense. Since my artistic sense is closer to an autistic sense, I figure that just a wee ounce of yours will make me a passable artist.

That's really, really awesome.

I like it - beautiful colors and I love the dynamic tension of the pose and composition - the way it feels like it's moving because of its asymmetry.
