A lifetime of memories starting at me from a grey fur coat
A lifetime of hopes sitting just with in reach
Memories of warm lakes and full bright moons
I cup my hands around my butterfly and keep it safe
careful not to touch the slowly beating wings
I crack my hands just enough to see the swirling dancing colors
They leak from the insects wings like irridencent smoke
and swirl up
and out
and into my brain
Stay safe little butterfly
and with me
