Dear statements about food...
Dear 3 mustkeer's bar, just because you are low fat does not mean that you are not a candy bar and not fattening. Please stop claiming otherwise.

Dear hot pocket, just because you make lean pockets which are heath conscious and are *better* for you than normal hot pockets, that does not mean lean pockets are "good for him" when he's using it as a snack.

Dear person at table, cooking in oil is not the reason for the countries obsiety. In fact, no one really knows what goes on in weight gain and there has started to be evidence that charbohydrates are actually the culprate. Or at least that most people who are on "low-fat" diets end up eatting MORE sugars and starches to compensate and commonly gain weight. Please do not over simply overweight causes.

actually, the evidence is more and more solid that it has to do with "carbs", i.e., the grain lobby pushing for ag subsidies (which made supersizing and over-processed foods insanely profitable).

(Not that modern low-carb diets are great for everyone, but, going back to whole and slow foods, whole meals instead or grazing all day looks pretty good for everyone.)

I've been amused that meringue cookies advertise themselves as "fat free!" Well, yeah, sugar, sugar, sugar, and egg whites have no fat...

(I LOVE Trader Joe's meringue cookies.)

I do think that's silly, but I can't really fault them for saying something that's true, yet dumb.

The 3 musketeer's ad had one person saying "I'm going to go the gym every day" and person two say, "I'm going to eat lost of vegatables" and person 3 saying "I'm going to eat choclate" and the voice over saying, "and now you can, because 3 musketeer's is low fat!" which is just a lie lie lie.
