Cheap or not?
My driveway is very narrow and we have a nasty fence that is chipping the edge of our car door. I've found a place that will sell pastic door edge guard, in black, for $10 (with the shipping added in.) I've also found the "offical mazda" part, which can be ordered in the color of my car. which costs about $65, which is a whole lot more than $10. But since I expect to be woning this car for at least 10 years, that's only $6 a year, if it means that it looks better and is a better product. The pictures aren't really clear enough to show me how much worse or better it would look. So...

Poll #1178553 less money or more certainty?

Cheaper or "offical"?

I bet the cheap one will last at least a year.

Car-branded small parts are often marked up, IME. (e.g. - My used car came without floor mats. $10 for a set at the store, or $50 for a branded set from the dealer.) The cheap one will probably serve just fine, and if it really doesn't, you can fall back to the official one.
